Research on learning burnout of college students has attracted attentions ofresearchers both in China and countries abroad. Students in Kashgar Teacher’sCollege are composed of both Han Chinese and Minority learners, most of who arefrom isolated mountainous areas and grassland farming areas. Comparing withlearners from the other Universities and Colleges in XinJiang, they are special notonly in background and natural environment but also in humanistic environment ideasand psychological qualities. Their Chinese level is also obviously different fromlearners in the other areas. Therefore unique thinking mode, belief and behavior withcharacteristics of their own nation form among them, which bring big and directchanges both in their study and life during their preparatory periods. These changesdirectly affect the whole period of their learning and life in college, which is evenrelated to the integrated quality of talents training in the minority areas in the future.Because of special psychology and culture, great difficulties and problems appearedwhen they adapt to new life, new culture, strange education and learning mode, whichprevent them from adaptation to college learning, college life and interaction with theothers. Among all the difficulties and problems, learning burnout is one of theprotruding one. Specific manifestations are as follows: some students are not active inlearning. They are lack of discipline, correct attitude, learning efficient and abilities ofself-controlling. Some of them even have no interest in learning and college life. Theyare weary of college life; skip school and even give up learning in the end. Therefore,we should pay attention to the learning burnout of preparatory learners of minoritystudents.Up to now many experts and scholars devote scientific research to learningburnout, including the manifestation and influence of learning burnout, origin of isand strategies of adjustment. Unfortunately, few researches focused on the learningburnout of minority preparatory learning in Xinjiang, so the writer wants to study theChinese learning burnout of out preparatory learners of minority students from theangle of psychology and education empirically, which not only can enrich the content of bilingual education research, but also provide useful information for bilingualpedagogy from many aspects. On the basis of case study, with preparatory learners assubjects, this paper mainly analyzes the integral situation of Chinese learning burnoutof preparatory learners. Basing on questionnaire, individual investigation andcommunication as well as observation, this paper investigates the situation of2010preparatory learners of Kashgar Teacher’s College. The self-made questionnaire onChinese learning burnout of minority learners is the foundation of the present study. The creation of it is composed of two phases. First, investigates the current learningsituation and influential factors of minority college students with open-endedquestionnaire; then device questionnaire with relation to the framework and structureof the other researchers; then, analyze the data according to their gender, level, gradeand major and finds out the common phenomenon and common influential factors inlearning burnout among preparatory learners. From the aspects of school, family andindividual factors, concerning the learner’s specific condition, this paper probes intothe influential factors of learning burnout of minority students in Kashgar Teacher’sCollege, and provides solutions to the remission of learning burnout according to theconclusion drew from the previous analysis. On the analysis and investigation of the questionnaire, the following conclusions aredrawn:(1) To certain extent, learning burnout exists among preparatory learners.(2)Distinguishing differences are found between intermediate-level class and basic-levelclass, intermediate-level class and low-level class in the total points of low spirits andsense of achievement. There are also differences between low-level class andbasic-level class, but not so obvious. The most serious problems lie in basic-levelclass.(3)Boys show more learning burnout than girls. Distinguishing differences arefound between boys and girls in low spirit and the former are experiencing morelearning burnout than the latter; no big differences exist between boys and girls in theaspect of mal-behavior.(4)Students who major in P.E. or art experience learningburnout the most, which follows by learners who major in humanity and science.(5)No distinguishing differences are found in different grade of learners in total pointsand every aspect. The present research shows that there65.85%learners of2010preparatorystudents exists learning burnout to some extent, which should attract adequateattention of us, because this kind of phenomenon is not good, which is quite likely to spread in college and classes. It is an inactive learning attitude. It will lead to a seriesof bad effects, if we ignore it. It will do great harm to both individual developmentand macro-development of the whole society. Therefore, we should find out thefactors which result in the learning burnout in time and take effective strategies tosolve problems, arouse Chinese learning interest among learners, which can not onlyadjust students learning attitude scientifically, which plays and active role in theimprovement of learning efficiency, but also sort out methods for Chinese teaching, solve problems, deepen educational reform in universities and colleges. It canimprove Chinese teaching quality in the end, which is significant for both theorydevelopment and actuality in the improvement of learners’ physical and psychologicalhealth.
