The Protection And Transmission About Tale-taking "Lie On Ice For Carp" And Its Filial Piety Culture As A Case Study

Culture in Yimeng of Shandong province, one regional culture in the treasure house of a national culture, bears a long history and has a solid foundation of the masses."Lie on ice for carp" is a story in ancient time about a step son catching carps by melting the ice with his own body to make sure that his step mother can eat her favorite fish in winter. It is one of twenty-four filial deeds. The unique culture the story conveys is filial piety culture, which is one of regional culture. The tale of "lying on ice for carp" is a member of the first group that became the provincial intangible cultural heritage in Shandong in2006. However, it fails to become the national intangible cultural heritage after twice application. Taking "lying on ice for carp" as a case study, the thesis is going to explore the profound culture connotation of folk customs to fully understand the required particular cultural background being the intangible cultural heritage by the systematic analysis of the regional culture environment of the story and the text of it. Four parts are going to be discussed:Part1:To explore the emergence of the story in respective of regional and cultural environment with data of philology.Part2:To discuss the change and the characters of the story through the study of the text with the theory of sociology and narratology.Part3:To analyze phenomenon of folk custom and the culture connotation reflected in the story with the knowledge of folklore.Part4:To probe the crisis it faces for further development, the value for protection, the way for transmission in perspective of intangible cultural heritage as well as the new exploration for the protection of intangible cultural heritage.
