On Enantiosemy Words In Ancient Chinese

" Enantiosemy" is a phenomenon in classical Chinese,which has constantly attracted the attention of scholars.The studies of "enantiosemy" have lasted about one thousand and seven hundred years since Guo Pu in Eastern Jin Dynasty.After Guo Pu,some other ancient famous scholars,for instance,Kong Yingda in Tang Dynasty, Xing Bing, Jia Changzhao in Song Dynasty, Yang Shen, Jiao Hong in Ming Dynasty, Wang Niansun, Duan Yucai in Qing Dynasty and so on,have discussed the phenomenon, and proposed numerous insightful views.In modern time,many scholars also take a keen interest in this phenomenon and was systematically discussed in the Enantiosemy Tsay by Dong Fan in Yanjing Journal,No.22,,in the1930s.It is the first time that the language materials about "justice has the opposites" have been comprehensively organized. The former researches on " enantiosemy" are mainly about the nature of it and the argument about this terminology. However,most of those researches failed to break the limitations of the exegesis and seldom studied this phenomenon from the prospective of lexicology,lacking the specific analysis of and systematic researches on the enantiosemy words.Only the book,the Explanations for the Collections of Enantiosemy Words in Classical Chinese by Xu Shirong, has collected the the enantiosemy words,which could be called the comprehensive analysis and summary of them. With regard to that book, some people think that the demarcations are not clear and the ranges are too wide.Despite the divergent views,that book is favorable and basic for the studies of enantiosemy words. Therefore,on the basis of that book,in this essay,I have made a comprehensive analysis of enantiosemy words collected.Besides,I have tried to eliminate the false enantiosemy words with careful screening and also summarize the reasons for the formation,types characteristics and the law of development of the enantiosemy words.According to from special to the general rule,it is necessary to summarize various rules from each enantiosemy word,for the sake of the nature of this phenomenon,reasons for and conditions of the fomation.Only in this way,can a accurate and authoritative definition be made.It is not only conducive to the teaching of ancient chinese lexicology but also to the Chinese language and literature course in middle school.Thus it is a topic of paramount importance.The text is composed of the following four parts:The first chapter is the introduction,which includes the current situation of the enantiosemy studies as well as the task and significance of this topic.The second chapter is about the collection and identification of the enantiosemy words.It includes the specific data sources,the standards for data identification and the analysis of the data.The main task of this part is to eliminate the false enantiosemy words and analyze the reasons for misunderstanding.The third part is about the analysis of the enantiosemy words.I have made a comprehensive analysis of the true enantiosemy words in order to yield related results, for instance,reasons for the formation,approaches,types,classifications,meanings conditions,the development and effects on the verbal communication and so on.The fourth part is the conclusion.On the basis of the above researches,we can summarize some problems and the value of" enantiosemy" researches.
