| As a unique practical type of writing, English news has its own style and features in layout, vocabulary and titles. Getting to know the features of English news helps translators do with vocabulary and style as a whole.This paper first discusses the features of English news from the following three aspects:general English news has such common language features as popularity, entertainment and economical efficiency; as a high-level overview of news, headlines have characteristics like conciseness, readability and novelty; chosen words should not only be objective but also cater for readers. Then it analyzes how to deal with the problems in its translation. Translation strategies are discussed from words, sentences to texts via translation examples’analysis so as to make target-texts faithful and smooth. |
