This thesis focuses on the study of Sima Yu, in order to reveal the evolution from the incorporation of imperial and gentry clans to the aristocratic politics in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, find the status and character of the Eastern Jin imperial power in aristocratic politics; and try to make a comprehensive study of the development about the aristocratic politics.The aristocratic politics means the imperial and gentry clans ruling together. It is a political balance between the imperial and gentry clans or gentry clans themselves. Althought the Eastern Jin royals in the political center of the aristocratic politics, it is very different for them to decide whether they should dominate the gentry clans or not. For their domination and the stability of the social and country, they have to obey the political incorporation of imperial and gentry clans, respect the political position, social and culture status of the Powerful Famliy, follow the operation rules of aristocratic politics, and keep the balance of it. All this will be talked in this paper.At last, Sima Yu not only is a rayal, but also a member of the Great scholars. He is famous for his Metaphysics, sharing the domination with the gentry clans. Because of that, the Eastern Jin royals and aristocratic politics stand side by side for a long time,and he also considered to be a important link in aristocratic politics of the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
