A Study Of Sun Xingyan’s "Mufu" In Shandong

Sun Xingyan had stayed at Bi Yuan’s "Mufu" in Shangxi and Henan for many years in his early life. The "Mufu" paid much attention to the academic activities in the field of "Xiaoxue", geography, epigraphy and "Zhuzi", which had a very deep influence on Sun. When he became an official in Shandong, he also set up a "Mufu", engaged many scholars and took lots of academic activities. Sun’s "Mufu" had made much achievement. For example, the Dai Nan Ge series and the Ping Jin Guan series his "Mufu" published were both famous for their high quality. But regretfully there hasn’t been any special research on it. This thesis has done a textual research on the members of Sun’s "Mufu", and the academic activities they had taken. And then it introduced the books written or published by the members one by one, in order to show the great accomplishment made by Sun’s "Mufu". At last, it discussed the ways of keeping the "Mufu" functioning. After the overall study of the scholar members and their academic work in Sun’s "Mufu", we can learn more about the characteristics of scholars’academic activities and exchanges in "Mufu"s. What’s more, it may also be valuable to the study of Sun Xingyan.
