Research On Sun Xingyan’s Calligraphy And Jin Shi Compilation

Sun Xingyan was a typical scholar-calligrapher during the Qianjia period.This article first uses Sun Xingyan’s calligraphy as a starting point.On the one hand,through the seal,it links the main context of his life and career;on the other hand,through the examination of the upper limit of the time of using the seal,it provides a basis for the dysfunction and discrimination of some calligraphy works.With regard to the seal script,Sun Xingyan’s main characteristics are as follows:the flying strokes of the long strokes appear to about one third of the strokes,and dew points are left for decoration.This method of using brush has been through Sun Xingyan’s life,but as time goes by,the flying white and dew points in his strokes gradually fade.In terms of style,the style of Sun Xingyan’s seal script is not static:his early seal script includes Zhoushu;the mid-term has two beautiful styles,mellow and ancient,and the style is slender;the later period is based on the mid-term,incorporating Xu Xuan’s Xu Zhenren Inscription.The style of the seal script is quaint,with a downward shift in the font.From the perspective of the teaching method,Sun Xingyan’s seal script was influenced by Wang Shu,Qian Dian,Hong Liangji and others on the basis of the method of Shuowen,Li Si and Li Yangbing.His practice in seal script writing strongly promoted the development of seal script in the Qing Dynasty.Regarding Lishu,Sun Xingyan’s main teaching methods,Cao Quanbei and Yiying Stele,are all in line with the rules of the inscriptions in the Han Dynasty.In terms of running script,Sun Xingyan’s early appearance was close to the pavilion body,with traces of Yan Zhenqing’s Manuscripts for Nephews in his writing;he borrowed Liu Yong in the middle period,and his style was thick and full;Sun Xingyan took the method of Dong Qichang in the late period,forming a simple and elegant style.Sun Xingyan has a rich collection of stones and a wide range of collection channels.From the Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty,many changes have taken place in the compilation method,status and function of Jin Shi’s works.In the background of the increasingly mature epigraphy,he edited Liquan Jinshi Zhi independent of local records.In addition,he compiled the Universal Interview Tablet,which has its own style and has a profound impact on future generations.Similar to its status in the history of calligraphy,Sun Xingyan’s achievements in epigraphy are mainly inherited.
