College Students’ Vocational Self-concept is individual’s whole perception about self and vocation, including all the aspects of self that influence the vocation, such as character, resource, goal. It is very valuable both in theory and practice to study it.Based on overviews of former researches, analysis the open-ended questionnaire and the exploring factor analysis, counseling of experts, we proposed the operational definition and structural model of College Students’ Vocational Self-concept, got a initial questionnaire of Vocational Self-concept of College Students, including 71 items.377 college students were investigated the initial questionnaire, after revised the initial questionnaire, finally formed the formal questionnaire, including 30 items.1287 college students were surveyed with this formal questionnaire, the model turned out to be legitimate and fitting by means of the confirmatory factor analysis. Reliability and validity were examined.Results showed that:(1) College Students’ Vocational Self-concept is multi-dimension construct, which had five dimensions:vocational character, vocational information, vocational network resources, vocational goal, vocational external.(2) The self-designed "College Students’ Vocational Self-concept Questionnaire" had preferable reliability and fair validity, it could be used as an effective measurement of vocational self-concept of college students.(3) On the whole, the total average score and the average scores of sub-dimensions of College Students’ Vocational Self-concept are above 3.00, the score from high to low are vocational goal, vocational character, vocational appearance,vocational connection, vocational information.(4) There were significant differences in professional interest, vocational guidance, work experience, student cadres, employment competitiveness, employment confidence, father’s occupation, father’s educational level.(5) There were significant differences in different gender in vocational information, vocational connection; there were significant differences in different grade in vocational character,vocational information,Vocational connection and vocational self-concept; there were significant differences in different hometown in vocational character, vocational connection, vocational appearance and vocational self-concept; there were significant differences in different mother’s educational level in vocational character, vocational goal and vocational self-concept; there were significant differences in different mother’s occupation in vocational connection, vocational appearance and vocational self-concept; there were no significant differences in whether one child in the family. |
