As the continue enrollment of colleges and universities in recent years, the students of higher vocational school will be faced with increasing pressure for the increasing competition. Currently, our country devoted much attention to the education of mental health of students. As we all know, Individual's mental health is affected by many internal and external factors, of which individual's Self-concept and coping style are two key factors. Self-concept refers to the cognition and attitude system of self-physical, psychological, and social by individual as a whole.coping refers to a variety of cognitive and behaviour efforts that made initiatively to solve behavioral problems and emotional problems brought by stress environment, when an individual in response to stressful events or situations, and facing of stress events. Mental health is a stable, positive adaptation state made by individuals to the variety of internal and external stimulation. It can be seen from the definition above, self-concept and coping style are important factors of mental health, and many domestic and foreign studies about self-concept and coping style have shown that self-concept, coping style and the individual physical and mental health are closely related.This paper study the self-concept, coping style and mental health characteristics of 575 College students in a number of private vocational colleges in Inner Mongolia, using "Self Concept Test"(SCT),"Coping style Questionnaire" and "University Personality Inventory" (UPI) based on reviewing of existing research in this study. This paper study the relationship of self-concept, coping style and mental health of students in the vocational college, and get the following conclusions:(1) The gender has a significant impact on the self-concept and coping style of vocational students. The self-concept of boys are active, but they are more easily adopt negative coping style. The level of development of self-concept of girls worse than boys, but will adopt a positive coping style.(2) Year of vocational high school students has no significant impact on their self-concept, but has impacts on their coping style. First grade and second grade vocational high school students use negative coping style more than three year vocational students.(3) Whether to be the only child,and come form urban or rural areas has impacts on the level of the individual's self-concept. The level of development of self-concept of the only child is much higher than non-child, and which of the urban vocational high school students is much higher than rural vocational high school students.(4) Family atmosphere and the rearing impact the individual's self-concept development..Vocational high school students of harmony family-type have high level of self-concept, and vocational education students under a democratic model of family education have a higher levels of self-concept than that of authoritative and doting family education.(5) Parental occupation have certain influence on self-concept and coping style of vocational students. Individuals whose parents with a good profession will have a positive self-concept and coping style.(6) Self-concept and coping styles have certain relativity, and Individuals with higher levels ofl self-concept active positive coping style easily.(7) Self-concept and coping style have a certain extent predict on the mental health respectively. High level of self-concept and positive coping styles of individuals tend to have higher levels of mental health.
