To further comprehend the development status and trends of websites for teaching Chinese as a second language, this thesis has studied and evaluated websites based on two kinds:comprehensive websites developed by government or universities, small-and medium-sized websites developed by private corporations. This study can provide feasible suggestions to website founders, and meanwhile helps Chinese learners find out websites they need.Firstly, the author of the thesis overviews the related theories for the construction of learning websites, including CALL, linguistics, educational psychology, etc., and paid special attention to input& output theory, constructivism and diagnostic analysis on long distance learners.Secondly, the author takes www.myechinese.org, etc. as an example to introduce the current situation of comprehensive learning websites. Meanwhile, she analyzes two small-and medium-sized websites in detail, "Chinesehour" and "Chinesepod". The former one provides online "one-to-one" instruction, while the latter uses podcast as primary teaching materials.Thirdly, to analyze the general situation, the author investigates 15 representative websites from the perspective of network curricula and teaching environment. Through a questionnaire survey on foreigners in Hangzhou, the attitude toward and utilization of classroom Chinese learning and online learning are obtained and analyzed. After that, suggestions of improvement are offered in terms of teaching contents and mode, websites design, as well as marketing and advertising. Finally, the thesis reaches the conclusion:Communization and individualization are the trend of websites of teaching Chinese as a second language. Integrating the ability of human beings and computer is the key point. Distinctive features are the developing source of online learning. |
