The Reasearch On Nanjing Red Cross Movement(1911-1949)

The Red Cross has played positive roles in the humanitarian action, since it spreadedto China. Nanjing Red Cross is the First Red Cross organization in Jiangsu province inChina.(It termed ‘Jingling Red Cross’in1904). Nanjing Red Cross which was located inthe particular city——NanJing,and it was the important part in the Red Cross movementin China from1911to1949. Based on sociology, statistics and other related researchmethods, the paper will analysis to the organizational construction, war ambulance, socialservices and other aspects of the Nanjing Red Cross, then to show the historicaldevelopment of Nanjing Red Cross movement from1911to1949. In the end, the paper tryto discuss the practical significance of the Nanjing Red Cross history by the theories ofSocial Organization Science and philosophy, and hope it can provides references to theongoing improvement of the Red Cross humanitarian activities in China.
