The Research Of Adjectives’s Examples In Modern Chinese Dictionary (the5^th Edtion)

The Modern Chinese Dictionary （hereinafter referred to as the"Contemporary Chinese"） is the most authoritative contemporary Chinesedictionary at present, Its usually used as the important tool which help people tolearn Chinese.And its also made significant contributions to the work ofpromotion of Mandarin and Chinese standard by rivise and rissue. The mostprominent change in the Contemporary Chinese5thedtion compared with theprevious versions is doing a comprehensive part-of-speech tagging of recordedwords. Contemporary Chinese5thedtion divided the words into12categories, andadjectives are subcategorized into attributive adjective and state adjective.The research object in this paper is the examples of adjectives.Byexhaustively investigate and analyse the quantities, types of examples and thegrammatical information of adjectives act in them, expecting have acomprehensive research of the examples in Contemporary Chinese5th. This papercontains seven chapters.The first chapter is introduction. Mainly introduces the research significance,research methods and research contents, and summarizes the status of dictionaryresearch and adjective research.Second to five chapter is the main part of the paper. The second, third, andfourth chapter separately statistics the examples quantities of qualitative adjectives,state adjectives and attribute adjectives, describes the structure types of theseexamples, and focuses on the analysis of the exhibition of their grammaticalfunctions, which reflecting the words grammatical informations in them.Based onall above,the fifth chapter analysed similarities and differences in the grammaticalfunctions of these three kinds of words. On the basis of research works above,chapter six points out the problemsexisting in the examples of adjectives, and give some relevantsuggestions,expecting contribute to the dictionary compilation and revision.Chapter seven is epilogue.In this part,the author summarizes the generaloverview of examples of adjectives, analyzed the deficiency of this article andprospected more research findings.
