This essay is divided into six parts. They are introduction, ending and four texts.The introduction gives a brief account of the reason of title selection, the present situation of study and the breakthrough of this essay.Chapter One to Chapter Four are the core of this essay. Chapter One analyzes. A notable character that reduplication of adjectives is different from that of other notional words is its wide scope of reduplication. Various categories of reduplication, abundant patterns and variety of the same origins are manifestations of its wide scope of reduplication. Chapter Two deals with changes of semantic and its characteristics. This paper considers that reduplication accounts for changes in semantic. It can reduce the scope of meaning. In addition, reduplication makes the semantic have the characteristics of gradation, state and subjectivity. Chapter Three discusses assimilation. The essay explains it in aspects of pattern, meaning and function. Chapter Four elaborates breakthrough and restriction of function. The essay explains it from the breakthrough of syntax, the restriction of combination as well as breakthrough and restriction of word order. The breakthrough of syntax refers to its flexibility. The ending sums up the whole essay and points out the problems which are not solved.
