On Strategies In C-E Translation Of The Press Publicity From The Perspective Of Functional Theory

As the process of globalization becoming faster, each country has been payingmore attention to the image of itself. A fine country image is one of the means toreflect the comprehensive national strength. Thus, the status of the press publicity hasbecome more and more important, which gives rise to more attention on thetranslation of the press publicity. Doubtlessness, an excellent translation of the presspublicity can deliver the comprehensive and correct information to foreign people,wipe off the biased perspectives about our nation, improve the communicationbetween mutual countries, establish bilateral profits and benefits, and improve therelationship between countries.Looking back at the history and the present of the translation of the presspublicity, we can figure out that the translation circles have already sensed itsimportance, and gave some advising thought as well. However, there is no systemictheory or unambiguous strategy to guide the translation of the press publicity. Besides,with the development of the press publicity, there are also lots of inappropriatetranslation works emerging. According to above phenomena, this thesis adopted theskopostheorie to analyze some inappropriate texts on bilingual China Daily oninternet, and try to correct them. From the above analysis, the author of this thesisfinally worked out four strategies to guide the translation of the press publicity, whichfills in the vacancy in this field. Through analyzing, he skopostheorie theory suits toguide the translation of the press publicity, meanwhile, the four strategies make the translation of the press publicity more standard.
