Ming dynasty in ancient china held the best condition for community’s development, one of the successful and sophisticated one was poetic-community. Lot’s of scholars in Ming dynasty were strongly attracted by poetic-community who performed as the most prosperous community and the foundation of poetry at that era. The poetic-community in Ming dynasty, however, is far more than a public place for recreation, it also had complicated connection with polity, philosophy and society. In addition to these, the other reality we should point out is that poetic-community and scholar’s mentality were obviously interrelated and interacted with each other. This analysis who focuses on the relationship between poetic-community and scholar’s mentality can not only provide a chance to deeply understanding each of them, but also find a way to evaluate the effect and impact of the poetic-community against the social form of Ming dynasty. This thesis was made up of 6 sections, including“introduction”“chapter 1-4”and“conclusion”.Introduction is concerned with the present situation of research on both“poetic-community”and“scholar’s mentality”in Ming, then point out the space in this field and the significance of this thesis.Chapter 1 describes the general aspect of poetic-community in Ming dynasty, including the definition, quantity, distribution and activity, all information from the generalization are prepared for the follow-up analysis.Chapter 2 focuses on the phase of“growing poetic-community”,which means the profile from Zhizheng in late Yuan dynasty to Zhengde in early Ming dynasty. The priority goal in this chapter is to figure out how the scholar’s original mentality and judgment about poetic-community could create its character and what kind of attitude did the poetic-community attained when it was in the rising-up stage.Chapter 3 is confined to the phase of“grown poetic-community”, which means the profile from Jiajing in middle Ming dynasty to Chonzhen in late Ming dynasty. This chapter is desired to find out the contradiction, conflict or concordance between poetic-community’s established attitude and the changed social reality; demonstrate the different kinds of crisis come from politic, ideology and literature aspect that the poetic-community have to face; then give an explanation about the evolution of scholar’s mentality when poetic-community is surrounded by kinds of crisis.Chapter 4 deals with judgment and valuation. The evaluate of poetic-community base on two angles,“literature space”and“non-literature space”, different comments come from different point of view, objective consideration assess to accurate evaluation.Conclusion covers the summery of this thesis and the possibility of future research about this theory.
