Team-teaching is a form of teaching which means two or more teachers instruct agroup of students jointly through collaborative work. Initiated in the United Statesin the mid-1950s’, it has been proved to be an effective and popular form of teachingafter several ups and downs. Due to the accumulation of practical experience andtheoretical research achievements, team teaching has been widely used in variousfields, especially in teaching English as a second language. Nowadays, with thepromotion and development of international Chinese education, this teaching form hasalso been brought into the field of teaching Chinese as a second language and hasachieved good results. Combining the advantages of the foreign teacher and the localteacher, who complements each other, team-teaching can facilitate teaching efficiencyand improve teaching effect through the efforts of both teachers. Although there stillremain many problems in the application of team-teaching in teaching Chinese as aforeign language, and there is a lack of theoretical research, as well as other relatedsupport, practice has proven that team-teaching is desirable and feasible in teachingChinese overseas.Based on my experience and comprehensive understanding of team-teaching inteaching Chinese in Korea, this thesis is focused on the research of application and implementation of team-teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language in Korea.Through teaching case analyses, this research has made specific illustrations ofteam-teaching practice and cooperation, which revealed that the professional qualityand participation of cooperative teachers would exert significant impacts on theeffects of team teaching. Applying the survey ways of questionnaires, interviews andother qualitative and quantitative research methods, and referring to relevanttheoretical research and practical experience, this research aims to offer someconstructive suggestions for other overseas Chinese teachers and constantly improvethe implementation of team teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
