At present, some MTI programs have set up team-teaching consecutive interpreting(CI)courses, but the teaching mode is not widely applied and there are no common standards.Previous scholars mainly focus on team-teaching English courses for undergraduate non-English majors and have seldom studied teamteaching courses for MTI students. This thesis conducts a survey study among the 90 MTI students from CFAU,XMU and UIBE conference interpreting major. The questionnaire is designed to find out the students’ attitude towards and assessment of team-teaching CI course. After comparing it with the traditional CI course, this research finds that advantages of team-teaching CI course lie in bilingual and extralinguistic competence cultivation.Meanwhile, through comparing questionnaire results of the three university groups and analyzing course designs and interviews, this thesis identifies their respective advantages and disadvantages and proposes suggestions for future team-teaching CI courses.First, the CI course adopting team-teaching mode should clarify the respective role played by each teacher and teaching goals in advance.Second, mock conference should be part of the course and if conditions allowed, students delivering speeches in the course will help maximize the benefits of teamteaching CI course.Third,to meet students’ expectation of more low-register interpreting materials, the free talk part of CFAU and video narration part of XMU team-teaching course provide good examples.Fourth,team-teaching CI course should be scheduled in non-graduate year so as to help develop students’ bilingual competence, the basic competence for interpreting at an earlier date.
