Abstract:objective:to investigate whether there has relationship between the expression rate of pigment epithelium derived factor (PEDF) on cells of glioma and the grade malignancy of this therioma. Methods: Samples of 47 patients who identified by pathologic diagnosis and presented diverse grades malignancy (according to criterion of WHO) and samples of 11 normal persons were obtained. The expression of PEDF on cells of glioma was measured by real time-fluorescent quantitation and was analyzed on diverse grades of glioma. Results: expression of PEDF:compared with control group, all experimental groups were different from others significantly (glioma in WHOⅠp=8.041E-05, WHOⅡp=5.081E-05, WHOⅢp=3.841E-05, WHOⅣp=3.976E-05). In addition, glioma in WHO II was different from WHOⅠ(p<0.05) and WHOⅢ(p<0.05),but glioma in WHOⅢand WHOⅣexpressed same amount of PEDF.there were significant difference between WHO IV level glioma and controls and II level glioma. It was also found that the expression rate of PEDF on cells of gliobastona was obviously decreased. Conclusion:The expression rate of PEDF on cells of glioma is declined and this is a negative correlation with grades malignancy of glioma. Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the effect and safty of corps callostomy in children refractory epilepsy.Methods:All children with refractory seizures(GTCS,tonic,atonoic) underwent in anterior corpus callosotomy(n=62) without other forms of epilepsy surgery.seizures reposense and procedure complication evaluated.Result:①Follow-up was accomplished in all 62cases for a duration of 1-3years.9 cases were satisfactory,38 cases were ameliorative remarkably,13 cases were benign,2 cases were poor.No death and sever complications occurred in 62 cases.②Indicators of cognitive function before and after surgery:A. the results of ERPS:Latency and amplitude of P300 are 352.19-43.42ms/ 11.75-3.94 V (pre-operation group),310.16-21.12/11.98-3.62 V (post-operation group) and 312.16-25.43/12.96-3.41 V (control group). Comparison of the two groups (pre-operation group vs. post-operation group and pre-operation group vs. control group) showed that there is a significant difference (P< 0.05). And, there is no statistically difference between post-operation group and control group. Furthermore, there is no statistically difference of amplitude among 3 groups. B. the results of PRS. The score before operation is 72.16-14.38 (total score),27.01-5.33 (language score) and 45.42-9.46 (non-language score). The score after operation is 88.16-9.83 (total score),31.12-4.17 (language score) and 50.16-6.42 (non-language score). The score of control group is 90.42-10.16 (total score),33.42-4.70 (language score) and 56.06-6.84 (non-language score). All scores of pre-operation group were significantly lower than the control group. But, there is no statistically difference between post-operation group and control group. C. The relationship (r) between the latency of P300 and the results of PRS is-0.395,-0.266 and-0.427. On the other hand, the relationship (r) between the amplitude of p300 and the results of PRS is 0.242,0.236 and 0.213. There is a significant negative correlation between the latency ofP300 and the results of PRS in pre-operation group. And, there is no statistically difference between the amplitude of P300 and the results of PRS. Conclusion:The corpus callosotomy is a safe and efficient way to treat refractory epilepsy in children.
