Study On The Causes Of Hypoglycemia In Patients With Diabetes Mellitus During Therapy

Objective:To explore the causes for hypoglycemia during the therapy for patients with diabetes mellitus to provide guidance for the prevention of hypoglycemia in treating diabetes.Methods:216diabetic patients with hypoglycemia are observed from the Department of VIP of our hospital From March2011to August2012and216diabetic patients without hypoglycemia were selected as the control group, The collection of variable is used to single factor analysis and multivariate Logistic regression analysis.Results:(1) The Single factor analysis of the chi-square test showed that hypoglycemia occurs with difference variables respectively age, duration of diabetes, FPG, HbAlc and BMI(P<0.05);(2) The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that age, FPG, HbA1c were the risk factors for the occurrence of hypoglycemia (P<0.05);(3) The reasons of patients with diabetes and low blood sugar are unreasonably diet(20.8%), excessive movement (9.8%). unreasonably using hypoglycemic agents(69.4%).Conclusion:Drug overdose took the largest proportion in all kinds of inducing factors leading to hypoglycemia. The occurrence of hypoglycemia in diabetic patients results from comprehensive effects of many factors.
