Objective:To investigate the serum uric acid level in children with obesity and its related factors. Methods:we selected pupils Grades1-6,aged7-14in the3primary school of the Chengguan District of Lanzhou from June to October in2011as the object of study. We detected all the students’ BMI,discovered children with obesity. In addition, according to the age and BMI matched method,we chose another ordinary children as the control group.Drew empty stomach blood to do laboratory examination, the items concluded:URIC,GLU,CHOL,TG,HDL-C.LDL-C.Results:The obesity detection rate is2.2%in3000children.The detections of obesity group and control group were35.3%(24/68) and3.92%(2/51), the incidence of hyperuricemia of obese children were significantly higher than those in normal children(P<0.05). URIC and waist circumference, BMI, blood pressure, TG and LDL-C has positive correlation, HDL-C has negative correlation. BMI,waist circumference, TG, low density lipoprotein cholesterol as risk factors of hyperuricemia, high density lipoprotein cholesterol as a protective factor. Conclusion:obesity and lipid metabolism disorders can lead to serum uric acid and blood pressure increased. The level of serum uric acid and blood pressure, lipid metabolism disorders were correlated.
