Objective①Exploring the cooling effect of Qing Tian He Shui massage intervened at different time on young fever rabbits induced by endotoxin from functional and mechanical aspect.②Offering the best treatment stage of clinical massage on fever children.Methods①Experiment preparation:40New Zealand rabbits that were50days old were selected weighing between1.5and2.0Kg. Half were male and the other half were female. Rabbits were fed in the animal center for3days of adaptation. Each day, they were immobilized by rabbit frame. Their body temperature and basic frequency of respiration were determined.②Grouping and experiment:40New Zealand young rabbits were divided into four groups named Blank group, model group, latent group,0.5h group and peak group when statistics such as temperature and frequency of respiration were steady after adaptive feeding. Neither massage nor endotoxin is offered to the blank group and body temperature was determined throughout the experiment. No massage was given to model group after treated with endotoxin and body temperature was determined throughout the experiment. Latent group was given an immediate Qing Tian He Shui massage for10min after injected with endotoxin at room temperature. The hand frequency was250times per minute and body temperature was determined throughout the experiment.0.5h group was treated the same as latent group except the massage was postponed for0.5h. Peak group was treated the same as latent group except the massage was postponed for1h. The frequency of respiration of Each group was determined every0.5h lasting for3hours. The heads of the rabbits were cut and the brains were taken out immediately after3h. brains were boiled for5min in physiological saline and Hypothalamus was taken and kept at-80℃before a further determination of the contents of AVP and a-MSH with radio-immunity method. Results①the body temperature of latent group,0.5h group and peak group rose apparently after15min treated with endotoxin. Comparing to blank group, the other four groups showed marked differences(P<0.01). Groups that were treated with massage still had two fever peaks. Latent group kept at a relatively stable fever temperature between1and1.5hours after treated with endotoxin. both0.5h group and peak group had Two fever peaks that were showed at1h and3h.②The variations in body temperature of young rabbits treated with massage were similar to model group’s at the beginning(P>0.05).15-30min later after the massage, they all deviated from model group’s. Body temperature of latent group was higher than model group’s. As for0.5h group, its temperature begun to drop1h later. After1.5h, the decreasing scale of temperature was obviously smaller than model group’s(P<0.05) and then much bigger than model group’s between2.5to3hours(P<0.01). Finally it went back to the level of blank group(P>0.05). As for peak group, its dropping scale of temperature was obviously smaller than model group’s between1.5to2h(P<0.05). Although, its temperature was lower than model group’s between2.5to3h, no marked difference had been observed(P>0.05).③The frequency of respiration and body temperature showed a positive correlation in groups treated with massage. The frequency of respiration presented two peaks in0.5h and peak group. During the whole experiment, the frequency of respiration in groups treated with massage had a marked difference comparing to blank group(P<0.01). The frequency of latent group approached to peak after1hour and then decreased slowly, finally below the frequency of model group after3hours but still much higher than that of blank group(P<0.01). The frequency of respiration between0.5-2hours in0.5h group is obviously lower than that of model group (P<0.01).3hours later, The frequency of respiration of0.5h group dropped much quicker than that of model group but was still much higher than that of blank group(P<0.01). The frequency of respiration of peak group varied approximately the same as that of model group(P>0.05) and2hours later, its dropping scale was much smaller than model group’s(P<0.05). After3hours, its amplitude of variation was smaller than model group’s (P< 0.01) but was much bigger than blank group’s(P<0.01).④The content of AVP in hypothalamus varies proportionally with body temperature. The content of AVP in hypothalamus hiked in Latent,0.5h and peak group after3hours of modeling. Comparing to blank group, each group showed marked difference(P<0.01). Comparing to model group, Latent group kept at a high temperature accompanied by a obviously lower content of AVP (P<0.01).0.5h group showed the strongest cooling effect and its AVP in hypothalamus is higher than model group obviously(P<0.01). Peak group did not show a remarkable drop in temperature and its AVP in hypothalamus did not have an obvious difference comparing to model group(P>0.05).Conclusions①massage introduced at different time showed apparently different influence on the variation of body temperature in young rabbits. Both0.5h and peak group exhibited cooling effect.0.5h group showed a better effect and latent group displayed an opposite one.②Generation of AVP in hypothalamus have been restrained by massage intervened in fever incubation.③The frequency of respiration and body temperature showed a positive correlation in groups treated with massage.④Qing Tian He Shui massage can not cool body temperature through increasing the frequency of respiration.⑤One of the cooling mechanism of Qing Tian He Shui massage is probably adjusting the content of AVP in hypothalamus.
