Studies On Chemical Constituents Of Xiasangju Formula

Xiasangju Granule is a traditional Chinese medicine used for the treatment ofclearing heat and detoxication, such as dizzy head and tinnitus, sore swollen throat,deep-rooted boil and so on. It is produced from a medicinal formular, which iscomposed by three kinds of herb medicines, including dry spica of Prunella vulgarisLinn, dry leaf of Morus alba L, and dry capitulum of Chrysanthemum morifoliumRamat (500:175:80). Previous phytochemical investigations on these three herbsdemonstrated that flavonoids were their common chemical compositions, whichindicated the crude extract of this formular would be active for some cardiovasculardisease. Pharmacological assay manifested the EtOAc fraction possessed obviousantioxidant effect and the inhibition of thrombogenesis.Guided by the bioactivity, phytochemical studies on the EtOAc fraction ofXiasangju formular were carried out. As a result,21compounds were isolated andtheir structures were identified by their spectraldata of IR, ESI-MS, and NMR. Thesecompounds were:β-sitosterol (I), β-daucosterol (II), ursolicacid (III),kaemferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (IV), acacetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (V),quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (VI), luteolin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (VII),diosmetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (VIII), linarin (IX), n-dotriacontanic acid (X),n-nonadecanol (XI), β-amyrenol (XII),chlorogenic acid (XIII), kaempferol (XIV),quercetin (XV), luteolin (XVI), apigenin (XVII), acacetin (XVIII), diosmetin (XIX),rutin (XX),acacein-7-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1â†'2)[É‘-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1â†'6)]-β-D-glucopyr anoside (XXI). Among of them, compounds V and XXI are obtained from XiasangjuFormular for the first time.
