The most important way of clinical treatments is vein infusion. In China, innormal conditions, the traditional way of vein infusion is that nurses turn thepulley manually to adjust the speed of infusion, and which speed depends onobservation and experience. However, from time to time, the method leadskinds of unusual situations: Firstly, for several inexperienced nurses, they cannot grasp the optimal drip rate in the operation, too fast speed of infusion willcause patients feel uncomfortable and too slow results in less effectivetreatments; Secondly, the longer infusion time elapse, the easier patients havekinds of situation and take more medical risks; Lastly, unnecessary workload isrequired for keeping monitor the infusion situation. To account for the above-mentioned cases, this paper presents an autohospital infusion control/monitoring apparatus and relevant research. Thewhole system contains a computer and some monitors, the computer wasplaced in the office room, and the monitors could be put in the infusion room. With the help of monitors, infusion speed will be measure accurately andinformation timely send to the computer previously mentioned. The computerin charge of analysis, control and display informations of all patients. Providedthe infusion speed is overranging or the infusion process is done, notificationmessage and sound alarm will be posted both by the computer and monitors, then nurses should take appropriate actions immediately. The infusion monitoring system this paper expound makes use of PC/CANas upper computer and makef use of MSP430microcontroller as terminal. Thevisual UI of upper computer will be devised by utilizing VC++programming, which requires function of display the information of remaining liquid volume, objective speed, transfusion speed, warning unit and etc. on the screen. Forthe terminal, a transfusion surveillance control system is planned whichcontains transfer interface of CAN, dip ratio set-up buttons, visual informationdisplay, reducing speed motor, warning unit and etc.Through make use of this infusion monitor system, remote monitoring ofmulti-case infusion will be achieved, also each patients could have their ownbelong drip ratio, not to say warning message will be produced when unnormalinfusion situation occurs such as the injection uses up, the system will autoswitch to the other bottle to keep on infusion. According to the reasonableestimation, the medical infusion system this paper presents will apparentlyeliminate the financial charges of hospital and thus save funds to improveother service qualities, eventually make hospital more competitive in themarket environment.
