Objective: To research whether DKA(diabetic ketoacidosis) can have effecton cognitive function of children with type1diabetes and discuss the relatedrisk factor to the possible impact on cognitive function,to provide guidance forclinical work. Methods: Select73patients with T1DM aged6~14children as the researchobject, and then divided into two groups: the DKA group, and unhappen DKAgroup, use Chinese Wechsler Intelligence Scale for children to analysis andresearch their cognitive function, and apply the method of correlation analysis todiscuss the possible influence factors on cognitive function.Results:(1) the DKA group Verbal IQ is lower than unhappen DKA Group(87±14vs113±14,P<0.001), Full-Scale IQ is lower than unhappen DKAGroup (92±19vs108±15,P<0.001),Performance IQ Two group, have nostatistical significance(100±18vs103±12,P>0.05).(2) Regarding Verbal scaleof knowledge, classification and realization, arithmetic, and the vocabulary, theDKA group is lower than unhappen DKA Group, the difference was statisticallysignificant (P<0.001).(3) the DKA group HbA1Clevel is higher than unhappenDKA Group (13.3±2.1vs9.3±2.0,P<0.001), C-peptide level is lower thanunhappen DKA Group (0.3±0.3vs0.5±0.2,P<0.05), TG、TC level Twogroup, have no statistical significance (P>0.05).(4)Correlation analysis showedthat DKA children of HbA1clevels, C-peptide level and Verbal IQ,Performance IQ and Full-Scale IQ has significant correlation (r=-0.989,-0.985,-0.988andr=0.463,0.451,0.451; P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)DKA in children can cause central nervous systemdamage.(2)DKA can cause cognitive dysfunction in children with T1DM.(3)HbA1clevels, C-peptide level are risk factors for cognitive function in childrenwith diabetic ketoacidosis.
