Objective: Epilepsy is one of nervous system’s common diseases and is a kind of chronic,recurrent and transient brain dysfunction syndrome, characterized by repeated seizures caused by synchronization of neurons abnormal dischage. Benign childhood epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes or rolandic epilepsy is an age-dependent epileptic encephalopathy. Recent years’ researches show that epileptic seizure and subclinical epileptiform discharge can cause different levels of cognitive impairment,this subject aims at study EEG character and the correlation with cognitive level before and after treatment in children with BECT,thus explore the clinical significance of intelligence and cognitive level before and after treatment.Methods: This study belongs to open case-control study.experimental subject:case group:60 newly diagnosed children with BECT, who were treated at neurology clinics of Hebei Children’s Hospital from November 2013 to December 2014,were cured seperated by LEV(30cases)、LTG(30cases),and this study was not divide into groups. Between the two groups of age and gender is no statistical significance between constituent ratio.Self-control group:compared before and after treatment.15 hours at night video electroencephalogram 、intelligence test and P300 check were collected in all children before treatment,3 months and 6 months after treatment.Application apparatus are video electroencephalogram analyzer,Wechsler intelligence scale,evoked potential analyzer.All datas were collated and collected, and then SPSS22.0 statistics software was used to carry on statistics processing,measurement data represented by mean ±standard deviation(x(_)+s),VEEG discharge index before and after treatment used single samples t test; P300 and intelligence test before and after treatment used matching data T test;correlation analysis among discharge index and P300,intelligence test used correlation study, two drug of LEV and LTG treatment after BECT’s influence on cognitive by using two independent samples t test, P<0.05(double side)had statistical significance.Result:1The spike wave index of EEG in 60 BECT patients were decreased significantly compared with that before treatment(P<0.05).It Showed that the EEG of BECT children has obvious improvement after treatment.2 The latentperiod of P300 in 60 BECT patients was shortened after 36 months treatment(P<0.05). It showed that the BECT children’s cognitive level were improved after treatment.3 After three months treatment,there was no statistically significantly differences in the verbal IQ and total IQ of all the BECT children compared with pre-treatment(P>0.05). The operation IQ was increased significantly(P<0.05). After six months treatment, the verbal IQ 、operation IQ 、total IQ of all the BECT children were increased significantly compared with pre-treatment(P<0.05). It showed that the cognitive function of BECT children were improved after treatment, the longer treatment time, the more obvious improvement.4 The spike wave index of EEG in 60 BECT patients and P300 correlation analysis r=0.175,correlation analysis of intelligence tests r=0.044, they are negative correlation. It showed that more frequent discharge of EEG, mental and cognitive damage is more serious.5 There was no significant differences between the impact of cognitive levetiracetam group and lamotrigine group.Conclusion:1 Discharge frequency of EEG in BECT children had negative correlation with intelligence quotient and cognitinve,that was to say,epilepsy discharge frequency was higher, the damage to the intelligence quotient(IQ) and cognitiveis was more obvious.2 Two kinds of antiepileptic drugs can effectively control epileptic seizures and improve electroencephalogram.The treattime was longer,the reduction of electroencephalogram discharge was more obvious,and the improvement of intelligence and cognitive was more obvious.3 2 kinds of antiepileptic drugs can effectively control the seizures, reduce epileptic discharge index. The treatment time is longer, the EEG discharge decreased more obviously, intelligence and the cognitive level more obvious improvement.4 No significant difference between 2 kinds of antiepileptic drugs on cognitive protection.
