Objective:To observe the clinical research on the pain of KOA treated by meridian-pricking therapy, compare meridian-pricking therapy with NSAID in the treatment of the KOA efficacy differences.Methods:Select60cases of Zhangzhou Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital from February2011to January2013, who were treated at the orthopedics department, rehabilitation department and in-patient department. The60cases were divided into a treatment group(meridian-pricking therapy) and a control group(Diclofenac Sodium Sustained Release Capsules), according to the random number of the30cases in each group of patients.The treatment group were treated at Xiyan(EX-LE5), Liangqiu(ST34), Xuehai(SP10), Yinlingquan(SP9), and Ashi acupoints, or at the varicose veins around knee, each time select2to4points, once every2days, three times a week; the control group were treated with taking Diclofenac Sodium Sustained Release Capsules, twice a day, each time take50mg at30minutes after breakfast and dinner. Both groups received2weeks’s treatment. Their clinical therapeutic effects were evaluated before and after the treatment according to the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC) and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS).Results:After the treatment, compared to the clinical therapeutic effect,the treatment group’s toltal effective rate was93.3%(28/30),the control group’s toltal effective rate was86.6%(25/30), both nonsignificant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Compare with pre-treatment,the VAS score were decreased in both groups after the treatment, and the treatment group were better than the control group (P<0.05); Various indexes of WOMAC were improved in both groups after the treatment,except for the rigid symptom treated by the control group, and the treatment group were better than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:The meridian-pricking therapy not only to relieve knee osteoarthritis pain symptoms curative effect is distinctnot,but also can improve the physiological function of patients alleviate joint stiffness.
