ObjectiveUsing an epidemiological cross-sectional survey method to investigatesleep status and influence factors of College students, the purpose is to knowtheir sleeping quality and to analyzing its influencing factors.MethodsThe Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) and a improved questionnairewere used to evaluate their sleeping quality by using multistage random clustersampling. The analytical methods were t-test, chi-square test and multiplelogistic regression analysis.Results1.The total score of PSQI of the college students was5.39±3.70,which washigher than the college norm(t=2.03, P≤0.05).2.The findings suggested that the prevalence of sleep disorder was23.71%.There were no significant statistical differences between the boys andthe girls. However, there existed significant statistical differences between sleepdisturbances and daytime dysfunction. The total score of sleep disturbances anddaytime dysfunction of female students were higher than that of malestudents(P≤0.05).3.The multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the factorsinfluencing of the sleeping quality were grade, health status, stress fromstudying and employment, family stress, sleeping environment, and sleepingregularity. Conclusion and significance1. Sleeping quality of university students in Laiwu city was lower than that of the population of same-age in the country. The prevalence of sleep disorderwas23.71%.2. There were no significant statistical differences between the boys andthe girls. However, there existed significant statistical differences between sleepdisturbances and daytime dysfunction. The total score of sleep disturbances anddaytime dysfunction of female students were higher than that of malestudents(P≤0.05).3. The factors influencing of the sleeping quality were grade, health status, stress from studying and employment, family stress, sleeping environment, andsleeping regularity.4. Poor sleeping quality do exist in undergraduates, therefore attentionsshould be paid to the sleeping quality of the university students.Sleepingquality is influenced by many factors. Thus we should take the comprehensivemeasures so as to promote their physical and mental health.
