| Object: A new method was used to observe the acupoint hour-prescription therapeutic effect in treating female adult abdominal obesity of spleen deficiency with dampness syndrome.In order to assess traditional medical science’s ability to do some good to patients.Methods:There were72female adult patients involved in this research,who came from Traditional Therapy Center and Acupuncture Department in Teaching Hospital of Chengdu University of TCM. They were divided into treatment group and control group.Each group had36patients. All the patients involved in this research were selected according to strict diagnosis standard,adopting norm and exclusion criterion.The treatment goup used acupoint hour-prescription therapy and accepted the treatment in Beijing time10:04～12:04. The control group used ordinary acupuncture therapy and accepted the treatment in other time except10:04～12:04. Both of the groups chose the same points and acupuncture technic. The patients received3courses of treatment,each course contained10sessions,1session per day. There was a two-day rest between each course.After the treatment,the body weight.body mass index,waist circumference,hip circumference,waist/hip ratio and clinical symptoms were used as indicators for effect evaluation and comparison.Results:(1)Before treatment,the comparison about age,course of disease and obesity degree between the groups showed that there was no statistical significance. The level of baseline for groups was similar.(2) After3courses,the total effective rate between groups showed that there was statistical significance and the total effective rate of treatment group was better than control group.(3) In both groups,body weight,body mass index,waist circumference,hip circumference all decreased and clinical symptoms reduced after3courses.The difference was significant(p<0.01).(4) As for body weight,body mass index,waist circumference,hip circumference and reducing clinical symptoms, treatment group produced better effect than control group,and there was significant difference(p<0.05).(5)Calculated by Rank Test method,obesity degree of treatment group produced better effect than it in control group.(6)Calculated by Test for Two Independent Sample,there was no obvious difference between those two groups on the side of reducing hip circumference and waist/hip ratio.Conclusion:Acupuncture of hour-prescription of points therapy is effective in reducing body weight and waist circumference about female adult abdominal obesity of spleen deficiency and dampness syndrome. |
