Objective:This subject is a randomized controlled clinical study. This research observes the therapy for abdominal obesity in stomach-heat and dampness-stagnation type before and after the treatment through acupoint catgut embedding with the spleen, stomach, large intestine shu-mu points and non-acupoint.Here preliminary study the effectiveness and safety of the curative effect with shu-mu points catgut embedding therapy for abdominal obesity with stomach-heat and dampness-stagnation type,to provide more clinical evidence for reference. Methods:Abdominal obesity with stomach-heat and dampness-stagnation type as the observation object.Under strict accordance with the diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria, exclusion criteria select cases of eligible subjects.Using randomized method, will conform to the standard of patients according to the proportion of 1:1 were randomly divided into observation group and the control group(n = 36).Observation group selection in the spleen, stomach, large intestine shu-mu points catgut embedding for the intervention measures, and control group choose to non-acupoints of midpoint between two meridians selection on the same level for the intervention measures.Treatment once every two weeks,4 weeks is 1 treatment course, the total of treatment is 8 weeks.Observed in patients with BMI,waist circumference, appetite, weight, hip circumference respectively before treatment, after 4 weeks and 8 weeks, and statistical analysis finally.Results:1 Before the treatment,to compare two groups of patients’ demographic indicators, main and secondary comparison, between the two groups were comparable(P>0.05).2 After four weeks’ treatment, the intra-group comparisons between the two group patients.Comparisons on between observation group and control group in body weight,BMI,waist circumference, hip circumference, appetite, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);3 After eight weeks’ treatment, the intra-group comparisons between the two group patients.Comparisons between observation group and control group in body weight,BMI,waist circumference, hip circumference, appetite, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);4 After treatment, the comparison between the two group patients.Comparison between observation group and control group in body weight,BMI,waist circumference, hip circumference, appetite, the comparison between groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusions:1 The paitients adopt Shu-mu points catgut embedding therapy for abdominal obesity with stomach-heat and dampness-stagnation type in weight,BMI,waist circumference, hip circumference and appetite both of which improved with treatment;2 Non-acupoint catgut embedding therapy for this type abdominal obesity in body weight,BMI,waist circumference, hip circumference and appetite both of which improved with treatment.3 After treatment, comparison between Shu-mu points and non-acupoint are effective,no significant difference.
