Objective: To evaluate the role of MRV in the preoperative evaluation ofparasagittal meningioma. Methods: All patients, which diagnosised of parasagittalmeningioma by routine MR examination and enhanced scan, were examinedpreoperatively with MRV and DSA. The visualization of sites, the degree of venousinfiltration, and collateral venous anastomoses in parasagittal meningiomas invading thesagittal sinuses were recorded respectively. Then the data were analyzed. Results: Forthe visualization of the sites of all parasagittal meningiomas invading the sagittal sinuses,MRV was in accordance with that of DSA and operative findings; For the visualization ofthe the degree of venous which not occlusion, The MRV sensitivity was87%with aspecificity of66.7%, consistency rate was82.8%. For the rate of the visualization ofcollateral venous anastomoses in parasagittal meningiomas invading the sagittal sinuses,The MRV sensitivity was25%with a specificity of76.9%, consistency rate was48.3%.Conclusions: MRV may provide the useful information for the show of the visualizationof sites, the degree of venous infiltration in parasagittal meningiomas and making theoperation scheme in the patients with parasagittal meningiomas.
