A Study On Factors For Teaching Enthusiasm In A Clinical School In Xinjiang And The Countermeasures

Objectives:to find out the factors for teaching enthusiasm in a clinical school in Xinjiang and the countermeasures and put forward effective and targeted measures; to provide guidance for the management to motivate clinical teachers’enthusiasm about teaching; to bring forward scientific ideas and methods of developing high-quality teachers and improving teaching quality. Methodology:Questionnaires are adopted to survey clinical teachers of different majors in a clinical school in Xinjiang.600questionnaires were distributed and596returned of which582valid. The response rate is99%and the valid response rate is97%. After data entry with EpiData software, the data collected were analyzed with the statistical software package SPSS13.0. reasonable interpretation and suggestions were provided. Findings:the clinical school is mainly composed of clinical doctors. Of the582questionnaires returned,39%respondents believe that the teaching workload is heavy,82.4%believe that to improve payment can promote teaching enthusiasm,40.9%of the faculty are satisfied with the awarding in the past three years’,51%view that clinical research can better motivate the enthusiasm of faculty,60%think teaching titles are closely related to teaching enthusiasm,90.5%take it that teacher training are closely related to teaching enthusiasm,86%feel proud about their teaching jobs; from the logistic regression analysis, influencing factors include title, age, award, ideas of teaching, etc.:make an overall analysis with the help of the interviews and work out the countermeasures. Conclusions:to improve enthusiasm, the management should:1. raise the income of clinical teachers to improve their teaching enthusiasm2. take more effective incentives to strengthen the humanity management3. fully implement the plans for faculty cultivation;4. devise a scientific and fair evaluation system.
