Clinical Observation Of The Spleen Decoction For Treatment Of Antithyroid Drug-induced Leukocyte Reduction

Objective:Through the clinical research of the treatment in antithyroid drug-induced leukocyte reduction by the use of western medicine and spleen decoction,we observed the clinical curative effect of the combined therapy of Chinese and Western medicine, in order to guide clinical treat in disease of white blood cells which is caused by hyperthyroidism or the anti-thyroid drugs. We also try to find an effective way for western and traditional Chinese medicine in such disease.Methods:1. Divided60patients who are diagnosed the antithyroid drug-induced leukocyte reduction into2groups:the treatment group (Chinese and Western medicine group) and the control group (western medicine group), there are30patients in each group. According to the illness weight, the control group take Tapazole1to3times a day,15-30mg in total.Leucogen Tablets3times a day,60-120mg in total. Propranolol3times a day,30mg in total. Gradual ly reduced the dose when the hyperthyroidism symptoms are basically controlled and heart rate less than80per minute. The treatment group add Chinese Medicine on the basis of the therapy in the control group, the prescription is DangShen30g, Astragals30g, Atractylodes macrocephala koidz10g, Peoria cocoas10g, Cooked dihuang20g, Mulberries20g, The first20g, Angelica10g, JiXieTeng30g, QianCao20g, Universe of10g, Sand benevolence6g. Based on this prescription, we add the radix bupleuri, Green husk, Dan skin, gardenia,Coptis chinensis franch, Radix scutellaria-e, if the patients are agitated irritability. We add yam、YiRen kindhearted、White lentils、Puerarin, rhizoma coptidis, radix scutellariae, if the patients’defecate number increased. We add Zi, BaiZiRen if the patients are insomnia. We add Coptic chine sis, radix scutellariae, floating wheat, fructose schisandrae, Nodal root, if the patients are great sweating. We add Root of herbaceous peony, hook cane, Shi JueMing, if the patients are bulging eyes than tears. Water frying those drugs above two times and take juice400ml, take those medicine for12weeks.2.Observe the patients’symptoms and signs in these2groups before and after treatment, fill in symptomatic integral quantitative table.3. Make curative effect evaluation, through the results of routine blood (white blood cells and the Nurophilic granulocyte count), thyroid function three (FT3, FT4), thyroid color to exceed index.4. compare the curative effect, by calculating the clinical control rates, significant efficiency, efficient and doing tatistics processing.Results:1. The total effectiveness in treatment group is94.33%, in the control group is67.67%. Two groups of phase was significant difference (P<0.05). 2. The treatment group is much better than the control group in improvement of the clinical symptoms and the reduction of the symptoms score, which appear significant difference (P<0.05).3. The treatment group has a very significant statistical difference (P<0.01), before and after after treatment on the rise of white blood cells and neutrophils level. Among the treatment group, there are very significant statistical differences (P<0.01). Both groups can reduce the degree of FT3, FT4, but there is no significant differences between groups after treatment (P>0.05).Conclusion:The clinical effect is exact in the treatment of antithyroid drug-induced leukocyte reduction by the combination of western medicine and spleen decoction. This combination therapy can rel ieve various symptoms and signs in patients, increase the level of white blood cells and nurophiles. Thus it create the conditions for hyperthyroidism and timely use of antithyroid drug therapy and conductive to hyperthyroidism early cure. It is one of the effective methods in treating antithyroid drug-induced leukocyte reduction.
