Objective:Compare the cardiopulmonary resuscitation results of rats after cardiac arrest induced by three different methods and measure ICAM-1and VCAM-1expression of cerebral cortex at different time points (3hours,6hours and12hours). Upon its resuscitation so as to determine brain injury after resuscitation and provide a theoretical basis for clinical research of cardiac pulmonary cerebral Resuscitation. Methods:Fabricate animal models of rat cardiac arrest induced by such three methods as an asphyxia, a chest oppression by3kg weight and an occlusion of heart vascular plexus. Each group respectively selects15rats that have been resuscitated successfully and then use immunohistoc-hemistry method to measure ICAM-1and VCAM-1protein expression in the cerebral cortex, meanwhile, continuously monitor the blood pressure and change of heart rate in the resuscitation process and record cardiac arrest time (TCA) and spontaneous circulation restoration time (TROSC).Results:(1) There is no difference (P>0.05) from comparison of HR and BP of each group before resuscitation, however, as for the time required for CA, the asphyxia group is shorter than the other two groups (P<0.05). There is no difference (P>0.05) from comparison of time of spontaneous circulation restoration, on the other hand, achievement ratio of resuscitation in the asphyxia group is77%, the group of3kg weight chest oppression is72%and the vascular plexus occlusion group is72%. There is no statistical significance for the difference (P>0.05).(2) Compared with a control group, ICAM-1and VCAM-1expression of each experimental group is significantly increased (P <0.05), but ICAM-1and VCAM-1expression among all experimental groups has no significant difference (P>0.05). ICAM-1and VCAM-1 levels in the brain tissue of3Kg weight group at6h and12h are higher than those at3h(P<0.05), meanwhile,IC AM-1expression of the vascular plexus occlusion group at6h and12h is higher than that at3h(P<0.05).Conclusion:The three animal models of CPR are acceptable, and there is no statistical significance for the difference of achievement ratio of resuscitation, however, the asphyxia method and the3kg weight chest oppression method are proud of simple operation and good stability. The brain injury, resulted from the three different methods, is basically same. All the models can be used for the research of the brain injury after resuscitation.
