Objective: By detecting metabolic spectrum of patients`blood and urea, to find outpotential biological marker and try to derive related metabolic pathway of umbilicalmoxibustion on primary dysmenorrheal syndrome, and to try to find out the mechanism ofumbilical moxibustion on primary dysmenorrheal syndrome.Methods:10primary dysmenorrheal patients were randomly selected in treatinggroup and10healthy female in control group. By detecting metabolic spectrum of patients`blood and urea, to find out potential biological marker and deduce related metabolicpathway of umbilical moxibustion on primary dysmenorrheal syndrome. Results: The metabolism spectrum of patients with primary dysmenorrheal syndromehad significantly changed. The substances changed were corticosterone, hydroxyproline,Leucineand Deoxycorticosterone,2-Methylbenzyl benzoate, Pidolic acid, Ethylhomovanillate, p-Coumaric acid, and Piperidineand Sphinganine. These metabolitesinvolved Steroid hormone biosynthesis, nitric oxide, neurotransmitters metabolism, andamino acid metabolism process. Conclusion: The metabolic mechanisms of umbilical moxibustion on primarydysmenorrheal syndrome are to adjust patients, with primary dysmenorrhea abnormalreproductive endocrine hormone level, to improve their nervous, immune, endocrinenetwork status to reduce pain and to improve concomitant symptoms of primarydymenorrhea.
