Objective:This study is to observe the clinical effect of sequelae of peripheral facialparalysis by acupuncturing the Renying point(ST9).Exploring the possibility of achievingbetter clinical effect of sequelae of peripheral facial paralysis by acupuncturing theRenying point to expand treatment mentalities.Methods:60patients were randomly divided into the treatment group and the controlgroup with30and30cases respectively, the treatment group selected bilateral“Renying”(ST9) points and regular points with the TDP illumination. The control groupacupuncture regular points except “Renying”(ST9).Each group has the same treatmentcourse、manipulation、needle retention and stroke frenquency. After a course of treatment,a ourcome measure will be given for the continuous and dynamic observations of twogroups of the evaluation changes of the patients. Results: The results show that both of the two groups can be curable to sequelae ofperipheral facial paralysis.(P<0.05). Both the dynamic and static observations revealtremendous changes. The comparison between the treatment group and the control grouphad significant difference(P<0.05), the therapeutic effect of the treatment group is betterthan that of the control group. Conclusion: Both Acupuncture regular points with or without “Renying”(ST9) pointwith TDP illumination had clinical effects on sequelae of peripheral facial paralysis, butthe former therapy is more effective in treatment.Further more the treatment group showeda better static state of the nasolabial fold、philtrum and mouthpiece syndromes, alsoimprove the complications of sequelae of peripheral facial paralysis.
