Abstract Objective:To evaluate the curative effect of titanic elastic nailing fixationin long bone fractures in children. Methods:We retrospective57cases of pediatric limbs long bone fractures who hadbeen treated with titanic elastic nailing in our hospital between2008.8~2010.8. Amongthem,24cases were femur fractures.12cases were ulna or radius fractures,12cases werefracture of collum radiuand,4cases were Humeral fractures and5cases were tibiafractures. We reviewed the union of fractures and the condition of function. The case werebetween3to14years old,the average was8.5years old. With closed reduction or a smallincision reset. Results:All cases have been followed up over2months to18months, average was10months. All cases were recovered excellent (the rate was100%). No postoperativeinfection, nonunion, elastic intramedullary nail fracture malunion and epiphyseal injuriesand other complications. Conclusion: Titanic elastic nailing might be an effective therapeutic approach forlong bone fractures in children. It has advantages compared with traditional methods notinfluence blood circulation in marrow in jury and not damage the epiphyseal plate, So it iseffective therapeutic approach for pediatric limbs long bone fractures.
