Background:Among the limbs injury the incidence of humeral shaft fracture is increasing. Despite the tremendous advancement in the fracture management over the years the humeral shaft fracture in children continues to be a challenge for the treating surgeon. The fracture may result in prolonged morbidity unless the treatment is appropriate. In growing children, most humeral fractures occur in the diaphysis and almost unite regardless the type and location of fracture or treatment method.The classical method of treatment of humeral shaft fracture in children has been the use of U plaster cast. Although satisfactory result can be obtained with this method but residual angulation, malrotation and limb length inequality is well documented.Modern treatment is to get back the preinjury status as early as possible.
