Objective:In order to provide the references to the choice of operation in clinicaltreatment of fractures,we compare the defferent between Resection and internal fixation forMason type-Ⅲ radial head fractures.Methods:40patients of the radial head fractures from orthopedics of AffiliatedHospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from2009.3to2010.3,who have complete clinical follow-up data, were retrospectively analyzed. Weevaluate the clinical curative effect of the two treatment methods, according to the VASpain score system, Broberg and Morrey elbow functional score system, increasing ofcoattails Angle and up degree of Radius proximal.Result: Two groups of patients were followed up for effective, follow-up time from12to24months, and an average of18months. Both in pain and functional score wasstatistically significant (P>0.05),but resection group greater than internal fixation group inthe increasing of coattails angle and up degree of radius proximal. Conclusion: There is no difference short-term effects to Elbow functions betweenResection and internal fixation for Mason type-Ⅲ radial head fractures. But resectiongroup’s coattails angle and up degree of radius proximal has appeared trend of increase.ItMay worsen along with the time. Because the study sample size is small, the follow-uptime is short, the clinical curative effect needs further research.
