Clinical Observation On Treating Children’s Cough Variant Asthma Belongs To Accumulation Of Phlegm And Heat In The Lung With Xiebaiwendan Soup

Objective:Through the observation on the impact of Xiebaiwendan Soup to cough variant asthma belongs to accumulation of phlegm and heat in the lung in children on TCM syndrome,serum IgE, pulmonary function and recurrence rate to evaluate therapeutic efficiency that Xiebaiwendan Soup teats cough variant asthma in children,and to explore its possible mechanism.Methods:60patients with cough variant asthma were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.30cases in treatment group were given Xiebaiwendan Soup in combination with Procaterol Hydrochloride Tablets,while30cases in control group were given simple treatment with western medicine of Procaterol Hydrochloride Tablets.Two groups were treated for one28-day course of treatment and followed for three months.Observed the two groups changes of the before therapy and after therapy on clinical symptoms and signs,recurrence rate,serum IgE and pulmonary function.Results:After28days treatment,the total effective rate of the treatment group was96.67%and the control group was76.67%.Curative effect of the treatment group was better than control group,showed significant difference through statistic analysis(P<0.05).In improving TCM syndrome,the total effective rate of the treatment group was93.33%and the control group was70.00%.Curative effect of the treatment group was better than the control group,showed significant difference(P<0.05).The curative effect on main TCM symptoms and the improvement of TCM symptomatic scores in the treatment group,was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).Compare With pretreatment,the level of serum IgE in treatment group was lower after treatment(P<0.05),which was better than the control group(P <0.05).In improving FEF25%and FEF50%,the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05).In decreasing the recurrence rate,the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05).The safety indexes of the treatment group before and after the treatment were all in the normal range.Conclusion:1.Xiebaiwendan Soup has a significant effect in treating cough variant asthma belongs to accumulation of phlegm and heat in the lung in children.2.Xiebaiwendan Soup has a significant effect in improving TCM syndrome of cough variant asthma belongs to accumulation of phlegm and heat in the lung in children.3.Xiebaiwendan Soup can improve pulmonary function and reduce airway hyperresponsiveness.4.Xiebaiwendan Soup can reduce serum IgE level and inflammatory reaction.5.Xiebaiwendan Soup can significantly decrease the recurrence rate of cough variant asthma in children.6.It’s safe and reliable without toxic by-effect.
