Objective:To explore the sleep-wakefulness rhythms and characteristics of sleep structures of independent activity Wistar rats between12h in the daylight.Method:In this experiment, taking the method of the cortical EEG recording and analysis technology to record and analysis the sleep-awakening rhythms and characteristics of sleep structures of independent activity Wistar rats between12h in the daylight.Taking the SL, total time of Wakening,TST, each period of sleep time and their proportions accounted for12h as the index. To draw the picture of the sleep structures by using the professional software in order to explore the sleep-wakfulness rhythms and characteristics of sleep structures of independent activity Wistar rats between12h in the daylightResult:1. Independent activities Wistar rats between Wake, TST time and proportion in12h monitoringBetween day12h during monitoring, rats Wake the shortest cumulative total for207min, the longest for394min, the average for (313.72±54.38min,(Wake/12h) for (43.4±76.25)%; cumulative total sleep time the shortest for326min, the longest for513min; the average for (406.31±45.38) min,(TST/12h) for (56.43±6.31)%2. The number of awakening between day12h of independent Wistar rats.Between day12h monitoring period, rats awaken least number for15times, most for31times, the average for (22±3) times; Awakening focus on16times-30times, especially in21-25times the majority.3. Sleep latency independent activities Wistar rats between day12h monitoring period.Between day12h monitoring period, rats sleep latency period the shortest for43min, the longest for146min, the average for (73.26±23.58) min; Sleep latency period centrally more appear in41min to100min.4.The time of each sleep period and their ratios in12h monitoring period of independent activities Wistar rats.Between day12h monitoring period, rats shortest cumulative LS168min, the longest for294min, LS (plus or minus S) for (221.64±30.82)min, accounting for between days and the proportion of the12h for(30.78±4.28)%; Cumulative LS duration distribution in more than186min to260min.Between day12h monitoring period, rats SWS accumulated shortest for89min, the longest for237min, the average for (145.30±30.66) min, accounting for between days and the proportion of the12h for (20.14±4.26)%; SWS accumulated for more than111min time distribution in200min. Rats SWS accumulated shortest for89min, the longest for237min, SWS for (145.30±30.66) min, accounting for between days and the proportion of the12h for(20.14±4.26)%; SWS accumulated for more than111min time distribution in200min.Between day12h monitoring period, rats shortest cumulative REM for12min, the longest for65min, REM for (36.73±13.19) min, accounting for between days and the proportion of the12h for(5.10±1.83)%; Cumulative REM duration distribution in the21min to more than60min.Conclusion:1.The rats’ sleep-wakfulness showed a certain rhythms. The rats’ sleep to be discintinuity. The rats’ sleep and wakfulness transformed frequently in the monitoring period and each sleep duration were not same.2.There were certain correlation between SL and the total wakefulness time. With the prolongation of SL time, the rats’ wakefulness time increased simultaneously but the TST reduced simultaneously. There were certain correlation between the number of LS and the number of SWS.With the number of LS increased, the number of SWS increased simultaneously.3. With the prolongation of monitoring time, the number of LS increased, the duration of time prolonged. The number of SWS reduced and the duration of time shorten. The number of REM increased, the duration of time prolonged. 4.There must be LS between the Wake and SWS.There must be NREM between Wake and REM.I found that the most of rats’REM followed the LS.5.The rats’each sleep cycle contain different sleep phase. Each sleep phase last short and transformed frequently. The degree of completeness were not same. The most complete sleep cycle appeared in the early stage of monitoring period.6. With the prolongation of monitoring time, the depth of sleep showed decline trend.
