Clinical Study On Acupuncture Intervence In Hemiplegic Spasticity In Early Period After Stroke

Objective:To discuss the clinical. effect and feasibility on hemiplegic spasticity in the early period after stroke with acupuncture points on antagonistic muscle together with the Yin-Yang harmonizing acupuncture therapy by making a comparison with the Yin-Yang harmonizing acupuncture therapy, which will provide a new feasible thought and method for the clinical treatment.Methods:60patients were randomly divided into two groups:the treatment group treated with acupuncture points on antagonistic muscle together with the Yin-Yang harmonizing acupuncture therapy while the control group only treated with the Yin-Yang harmonizing acupuncture therapy. Each group had30cases. For both groups, after four weeks treatment, the modified Ashworth scale(MAS),clinical spasticity index(CSI),simplified Fugl-Meyer assessment(FMA) and Barthels’ADL index were adopted as observation items and were compared.Results:After four weeks treatment, the results of the modified Ashworth scale(MAS)and clinical spasticity index(CSI)of both groups were better than that before treatment. As to the degree of spasticity, therapeutic effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).In the aspect of simplified Fugl-Meyer assessment(FMA) and Barthels’ADL index, there was significant improvement in both groups after treatment. And the degree of improvement in the treatment group was obviously better than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The methods used in two groups were both effective to improve the hemiplegic spasticity patients’dyskinesia. Compared with the Yin-Yang harmonizing acupuncture therapy, acupuncture points on antagonistic muscle together with the Yin-Yang harmonizing acupuncture therapy in the early period after stroke was more effective to prevent and treat hypermyotonia.
