Objective: The immunohistochemistry method was used to detect theexpression of SATB1in Non Hodgkin lymphoma. The relationship betweenSATB1expression and clinicopathological characteristics was investigated. Methods:From January2011to December2011,94cases acceptedlymphoid tissue biopsy at Guangxi cancer hospital of Guangxi medicaluniversity were enrolled in this study,Including63cases of non Hodgkinlymphoma and31cases of chronic lymphadenitis disease.Immunohistochemistry method was applied to detect the SATB1expression onparaffin-embedded tissues of selected cases. To analysis the correlation betweenthe expression level of SATB1and clinicopathological characteristics throughchi-square test.Results:94analysable cases with paraffin-embedded tissues were enrolledin this study finally.In63NHL cases,SATB1staining was negative in34cases(54.0%), and positive in29cases, including16of“+”(25.4%),13of“++”(20.6%);in31chronic lymphadenitis cases,SATB1staining was negative in28(90.3%) and positive in3cases, including1of“+”(3.2%),2of“++”(6.5%)。The expression of SATB1in Non Hodgkin lymphoma was significantly higherthan that in chronic lymphadenitis disease tissue (p <0.05). The SATB1 expressions in diffuse large B cell lymphoma and peripheral T cell lymphomawere both significantly higher than that in chronic lymphadenitis, but there wasnot difference between these2NHL subtype. The expression of SATB1wasnot related with age, staging, extralnodal invasion, ECOG,LDH,IPI groups.(P>0.05).Conclusions: The expression of SATB1is higher in non Hodgkinlymphoma than that in chronic lymphadenitis disease.SATB1may be involvedin lymphomagenesis of NHL. The expression of SATB1was not related withage, staging, extralnodal invasion, ECOG,LDH,IPI groups.
