| Objective: To understand the HIV/STD infection rate and its risk factors, the high riskbehavior changes in the follow-up of the prospective cohort, the retention rate and toevaluate the factors associated with retention among a cohort of MSM in Urumqi,it is important to explore high-risk behaviors and risk factors among MSM to control thespread of HIV.Methods: This study investigated MSM(men sex with men) participant who working,living and studying in Urumqi. Enrolling criteria is age above18years, have a sex withrecent6month, HIV test result is negative and will be living Urumqi in next one year. Inthe base line,6month visit and12month visit will be conduct3times pre test counseling,and testing HIV/HSV-2. After testing provide post test counseling.Results:340participants who HIV test result negative be observed282person-years.Totally have8person seroconversion, HIV incidence rate is2.84/100person-years.312participants who syphilis test result negative be observed229person-years. Totally have7person seroconversion in syphilis testing. Syphilis incidence rate is3.06/100person-years.300participants who HSV test result negative be observed293person-years. Totally have14person seroconversion in HSV testing. HSV incidence rate is4.78/100person-years.Multi-factor Cox regression model analysis showed that past drug use (RR=0.18,95%CI:0.04~1.00), and HIV/syphilis of new infections was statistically significant; In6monthfollow-up that whether homosexual commercial sex (RR=0.16,95%CI:0.05,0.50);syphilis infection was statistically significant; In12month follow-up, had commercial sexactivity with men and unproductive anal sex in recent6month, result showed a downwardtrend, and statistically significant.340participants followed up12month, retention rate is76.18%. Logistic regression results show that the frist sex of sexual relationship (OR=0.55,95%CI=0.33~090) and education level (OR=0.38,95%CI=0.19~0.73)statistically significantConclusions:1. The incidence of HIV and STD is high among MSM in Urumqi, relative methods should be taken promptly,should take measures to control the spread of HIV/STDepidemic in this population timely. |
