Objective: To explore the the value of three-dimensional power doppler ultrasoundin the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules. Methods: A totalof125thyroid nodules in96patients were examined with three-dimensional powerdoppler ultrasound based on the two-dimensional. The ultrasonic data were comparedwith results of surgery and pathology. To observe the sonographic features of thyroidnodules with three-dimensional power doppler ultrasound mapping: vascular distributing, formation and spatial distributing of the thyroid nodules vessels. To assess the value ofthree-dimensional power doppler ultrasound in the differential diagnosis of benign andmalignant thyroid nodules. Results: There is significant difference in sonographicfeatures between the benign and malignant thyroid nodules of3D power Dopplerultrasound. In benign nodules showed that vessels distributed surrounding the masscounter to71.7%, regular vessels counter to86.7%,symmetrical spatial distributingcounter to85%. In malignant nodules showed that vascular distributing from outsidetoward the inner counter to91.7%,dilatated and distorted vessels counter to88.9%,dissymmetrical spatial distributing counter to66.7%. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy rate of3D powerDoppler ultrasound were, respectively,91.7%、86.7%、80.5%、94.5%、88.5%,are superiorto2D power dopple. Conclusions:3D power Doppler ultrasound provide moreinformation of the thyroid nodules and are of great value in diagnosising anddifferentitating thyroid nodules.
