Objective:To investigate the association of genetic polymorphisms of the znic finger protein36(ZFP36) with obsity in Xinjiang Uygur population. Methods:932Uygur pepole were recruited randomly from Hetian area of xinjiang. The2single nucleotide polymorphisms (rs3746083,rs251864) in ZFP36gene were selected and genotype by Taqman-PCR. All subjects underwent questionnaire, physical examination,measurement of lipid levels. Result: In the two representative variations genotyped,rs3746083, rs251864, the three group(divided by BMI) were not significant different (P>0.05). in The frequencies of genotypes and alleles in normal and Abdominalobesity group according to Waist girth,The frequencies of genotypes CC, CT, TTof rs3746083was not significant different (P>0.05). but The frequencies of allelesC,T were significant different (P<0.001). in male, normal and Abdominal obesitygroup according to Waist girth, The frequencies of genotypes and alleles were different (P=0.02,0.004), but in female were none. None of the alleles and genotypes frequencies of rs251864were different in the two group of divided by Waist girth,but males in this two group,The frequencies of genotypes of rs251864were are different (P=0.042), the alleles were not different(P>0.05). in female this two groupNone of the alleles and genotypes frequencies of rs251864were different (P>0.05).in the dominant model, the concentration of Fasting glucose and HOMA-IR indixwas different between CC+CT and CT of rs3746083genotype (CC<CT+TT,P=0.012,0.035).Diastolic blood pressure was different betweenAA,AG,GG of rs251864genotype (P=0.015). Conclusions:Our data showed znic finger protein36genetic rs3746083polymorphism may be associated with Abdominal obesity in uygur male.
