Clinical Significance Of Preserving Intercostobrachial Nerve During Axillary Lymph Node Dissection For Breast Cancer

Objective：Comparison with the groups complexion after axillary lymph nodedissection for breast cancer which the reserve ICBN group and the cut down ICBN group,To explore the value of Preservation of the intereostobraehial nerve during axillary lymphnode dissection for breast cancer. Methods：Collect72materials about the level Ⅰ,ⅡandⅢApatients with axillary lymph node dissection for breast cancer, They are see the doctorin our hospital and the third affiliate hospital of the Xinjiang medical university duringMay,2010to November,2011.Than we assort this materials with Preservation of ICBNgroup and the cut down ICBN group. After the operation comparison with the sentience ofthe armpit and the complexion of the tumor diversion and recrudesce. Results：Comparison with the time of the two groups used: The reserve ICBN group used50~100min (Average70.64min),The cut down ICBN group used40~90min（Average60.40min）.Compare with these two groups, there was only10.24min by reserve ICBN inthe operation（P＜0.05）. All of the patients emerged the pain and sensory disturbance ininternal upper arm after operations. The reserve ICBN group was8.51%,2.13%and0.00%; the cut down ICBN group was88.00%,68.00%and40.00%.The degree and theduration of the pain and the sensory disturbance were different（P＜0.05）. The symptomsof the patients of reserving ICBN couldn’t remittance and recuperate in short term. Allpatients were followed up two weeks,three months and six months after operations, therewas no one recidivism during6～18months.Conclusion: It is feasible to reserved ICBNduring axillary lymph node excision in the level Ⅰ,Ⅱand ⅢA patients’ breast canceroperation, and can significantly decrease the postoperative morbidity of arm pain andsensory disturbance. Although reserve ICBN would add average10.24min, but it is still a good for increasing the life quality of patients after operation.
