The paper is expected to fulfill a series of purposes. First, it is to investigate the current working conditions of medical stuff in the city of Hangzhou and whether they are satisfied with the work. Second, the author is to analyze factors contributing to the working stress and satisfaction conditions of Hangzhou’medical stuff, and the relation between these two aspects. Then the author tries to make suggestions on reducing those workers’working stress and raising their satisfaction rate, so that this paper may serve to promote the recent round of medical reform and also put forward suggestions for Hangzhou’s medi-care reform. The paper adopts integrated research methods including theoretical study and field research, quantitative and qualitative studies, with a group of1383medical stuff in Hangzhou as its subjects. Through literature review, expert consultancy and questionnaires, the author collects statistics on working pressure and satisfaction conditions reflected by stuff of different levels and posts to analyze their differences and relevance. All collected statistics are further studied through the software of spss13.0.After careful analysis, a number of results can be reached. First, the working pressure suffered by Hangzhou’s medical stuff has exceeded the level to guarantee their health, which must call for due attention to work on. Second, the overall satisfaction conditions of Hangzhou’s medical stuff stay at the average across the country, so there is a potential to make those workers more content with what they are engaged in. Next, the levels of working pressure differ in educational backgrounds and posts. For example, the higher diploma one has, the more pressure he may undertake. Also, a declined pressure level is seen from clinicians, nurses and technicians. The fourth result is concerned with differences about satisfaction conditions. Gender, age, educational background, post, department and length of service may contribute considerably to one’s satisfaction towards his work. Normally, female medical stuff feel more content with their work than males; more educated stuff feel less satisfied; technicians get the highest level of contentment among other posts; as for departments, stuff working in internal medicine and eternal medicine feel the least happy; a U trend of satisfaction state can be found when length of service is taken into consideration. The fifth result is that medical stuff in different class hospitals show no sharp difference in working pressure and satisfaction state. We also find a negative correlation between working pressure and satisfaction condition, namely the more pressure the less satisfaction. Lastly, these two factors have a predicable mutual influence. As a cooperated profession, a harmony interpersonal relationship among medical stuff will make a difference for the development of the medical industry. On the other hand, people today pay more and more attention to personal growth in order to win in the social transformation. The hospital thus makes efforts not only to strength the disciplines but also improve stuff’s skills. Still, more remains to be done and the author would put forward some suggestions. First, the society should provide medical stuff with a good working environment, establish an improved law system to protect their legal interest, properly guide public opinions toward medicine, and make a healthy media mechanism with a strong sense of responsibility and a far-reached and objective sight. Second, the hospital should constantly optimize its management pattern for all levels across the hospital, improve working environment, take innovations to transfer medical risk, and pay great attention to work out an effective salary stimulation system. What counts most is an efficient communication platform to get the administrative informed of the stuff’s physical and mental health. Last but not least, medical stuff should also learn how to stand high level of working stress, adopt a positive attitude toward what they are engaged in, use scientific ways to deal with unexpected conditions during working hours, and seek mutual help when in trouble.
