Building The Harmonious Doctor-Patient Relationship From The Institutional Ethics Perspective

The development of the medical and health services is related to the important affairsof the national economy and people’s livelihood. People tend to regard the quality ofmedical and health services as one of the important criterion to measure the fruits ofeconomic development and social harmony. Therefore, the development of medical andhealth services is to build a harmonious socialist society. Building the harmonious societycan’t be separated from the harmonious doctor-patient relationship. Providing high qualityand affordable health services is an important way to enhance people’s sense of securityand satisfaction. Through theoretical innovation and practical exploration, a set of healthservices system in the steady reform gradually have been established and perfected,adapting to the modern economic and social development of the law and requirements. Thehealth departments and medical institutions also actively built a harmonious doctor-patientrelationship. At present, although the health care system has made some achievements, thehealth care system in the country can’t meet the medical needs of the masses. Medical andhealth spending has become the third largest consumer of household food expenditure oneducation. New medical treatment is difficult and expensive problems to be solved, anddoctor-patient conflict and medical dispute discordant voices is emerging.Accompanied by expansion of the main connotation of the doctors and patients inmodern society, problems which people reflected are difficult and expensive in medicaltreatment. Essentially, our society is in transition, process, and in the factor of relatedhealth care system design, system operational level problems occur. The specificsocio-economic background come into play, which make the sensitive topic become thefocus of concern in the community. This paper uses literature research, expert advice, valueanalysis, theory and practice of combining research methods. The definition of theconnotation of physician-patient relationship solids the basis for further study of thedoctor-patient relationship. Through drawing reasonable theoretical core, focusing on theuse of the system of ethical theory to explain the main behaviors of the doctor-patientrelationship, and analyzing the value of mechanism, exploring the foundational cause ofinstitution of the nervous relationship between doctor and patient and its inherent ethicalissues, ethical principles and realistic path to building a harmonious doctor-patientrelationship have been provided.The full text is divided into four parts.The first part is the physician-patient relationship and the institutional ethics. This part briefly describes of the institutional ethics perspective, sorts out and evaluates thephysician-patient relationship of the different historical periods. Further, let the readershave a fundamental understanding of the current state of physician-patient relationship.Finally, this part explores the doctor-patient relationship institutional ethics arrangements.The second part is analysis of the institutional reasons of nervous doctor-patientrelationship. That part is the main part of this article. It starts mainly from China’s medicaland health services, protection systems and pharmaceutical production and distributionsystem, health care system. The purpose is to study the root system involving the tensephysician-patient relationship, and analyze ethical issues.The third part is to analyze the ethical problems of institution of nervousdoctor-patient relationship. This part generally analyzes the existing institutional problemsaffecting doctor-patient relationship under the institutional ethical perspective.The fourth part is to build a system of ethical principles and the path of harmoniousdoctor-patient relationship. It analyzes the value of objective of the physician-patientrelationship and use of basic theory of building a harmonious doctor-patient relationship topropose the system of ethical principles and the specific path of institutional ethics, whichprovide theoretical support of the institutional ethics and value guidance for the solution tothe problem of doctor-patient relationship.The remodeling of the doctor-patient relationship is a social system project. It needsthe continue efforts of all aspects of government departments, medical service providers,patients and social in the long run. This research is to make contribution to a harmoniousprocess of the doctor-patient relationship.
