The New Bitongling Granule On Collagen-induced Arthritis Rat Serum And Synovial Tissue Of IL-2and TNF-α Effects

Objective:New Bitongling Granule,a proved prescription for treating Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA),is combined with primary experiment and clinical practice and developed from the Bitongling Granule which belongs to Wang Lvqiu, the renowned Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) physician. It aims to further study the influence of New Bitongling Granule for treating IL-2and TNF-αin the serum and synovial tissue of the collagen-induced arthritis rats, and also to study the partial possible principle of New Bitongling Granule for treating RA in order to inherit and develop the renowned TCM physicians’ academic experience and offer advantageous services for treating clinical diseases as well.Methods:70model rats with CIA caused by cattle collagen type Ⅱ and completely eph’s adjuvant were divided into7groups with10rats for each. To observe the change of the rat weight, degree of the partial articular swelling in each group as well as the contents variation of IL-2and TNF-α in the serum and tissue homogenate of the drugs, we intervened in CIA with high dose, medium dose and low dose New Bitongling Granule, Amethopterin and Tripterygium wilfordii polyglycoside.Results:1.New Bitongling Granule is able to effectively decrease the degree of partial swelling in CIA rats, besides the worst result in the low dosage group; no obvious difference could be seen in the medium dosage group, high dosage group and normal group.2. New Bitongling Granule is able to effectively decrease the contents of IL-2and TNF-α in rat’s serum and tissue homogenate. To some extent, the curative effect is growing with drugs dose increasing.3. There is no obvious effect difference of IL-2and TNF-α in the rats serum and tissue homogenate applied with New Bitongling Granule, Amethopterin and Tripterygium wilfordii polyglycoside in a short time.Conclusion:New BiTongling Granule enables to decrease the contents of IL-2and TNF-α in the serum and tissue homogenate, and this may indicate the possible principle about the therapeutic effect of the New Bitongling Granule on patient with RA in clinical treatment.
