Object iveTo observe the clinical curative effect and safeness of acupuncture and HuangQiGuiZhiWuWuTang in treating DPN, and discussing its possible functional mechanisms in order to provide some reference for further research.MethodWith random comparison,80patients who are qualified according to diagnositic standards were divided randomly into2groups, treatment group will be given the acupuncture and HuangQiGuiZhiWuWuTang, the contrast group given the medicine(Mecobalamin), setting2weeks as one treatment. After6weeks, data including symptoms, signs and the laboratory indicators were collected.then they were analyzed with scientific statistic methods.ResuItsAfter completing one treatment, all the collected data such as symptoms, nerve conduction velocity, blood viscosity were improved both in the treatment group and contrast group. Both changes were statistically significant (P<0.05or P<0.01). However,by contrast, the outcome of the treatment group is better than the contrast one, P<0.05after going through the experiment. In this experiment,no patient have side effect. The Observation of the security is the same between two groups.ConclusionThe overall clinical curative results of TCM has no obvious side effect, it costs less, and is convenient to make, so it can be easily accepted by patients. Modern pharmacology research sonrirmed that acrpunctreand acupuncture and HuangQiGuiZhiWuWuTang have various and complex curative effects to the body,such as reducing the blood pressure, regulating the lipid metabolism, controlling the blood glucose, improving the microcirculation, countering platelet aggregation etc it fully shows that TCM has more advantages overall, we should put more efforts into further study.
